first at decks.de!!! 11_inch is the project of hannover-based producers and djs ralf eckert, ron paul and christian weiland, working and being creative in the basement of time tools mastering studios. this is the perfect surrounding for a session with singer and songwriter jesse lee davis. you can hear the result on this classic disco- like slowgroover >can you feel it<. dubbymans (deep explorer) version keeps it very much organic with a great piano pattern and laidback moods on the chords while jesse lee croons about losing minds on the dancefloor. venedikt reyf, better known as suedmilch, puts the focus on the groove without losing the vibe of the original. the pitched down vox sounds just perfect to it. hypnotizing!

tiefenschoen as an lp is a complete whirlwind having a raw and dirty feel to it, albeit without losing focus on the original and well-known jean f. cochois sound. this is an extremely strong club album with a powerful recognition value – not only musically, but also visually thanks to its album cover. it stands out as it has an overall concept and, throughout it, a sense of continuity from beginning to end.

aconito records newest acquistion, alessio pili, has joined forces with nax-acid for his debut release: dgt is shit, a provocatory title for an ep dedicated to a world that is slowly losing the inner soul of the cult of vinyl and djing. the two versions differ in their emphasis on the rhythms: driving and smooth in the edit version, harder and more incisive in the original to help preserve the atmospheric flavour.

scream is a trip through vocal-like echo chambers that is losing itself within the depth of reverb, its oriental aesthetics being similarly credible as the tidy bass beat is. nobody else has catapulted baby fords ifach sound into the year 2010 as consequently as sis did.

hello and welcome to the new decade. we are kicking off the 10s with a smash from the 00s - as a hinge between the decades, so to say. adas >lovestoned< was everybodys favourite track from her fabulous >adaptations< album, a milestone of romatic techno with vocal support by raz o hara. one of this songs biggest admirers is president bongo of gusgus fame. together with jack shidt he forms the dynamic duo gluteus maximus which already caused a stir with their amazing remix for sigur ros >gobbledigook< on kompakt pop. their lovestoned remix is astounding, too. sex, modern, efficient without losing one gramm of soul. the flipside is taken care of gui boratto who is never far away when techno meets pop in such a sensitive way. his remix makes all great things from the original a bit greater and its pushing the romance factor to the max.

after the debut albums from future beat alliance and aardvarck, delsin strikes again with this very deep soulful ambient techno album by dimension 5. until now dimension 5 did have only released one 12, but one which was directly praised by fabrice lig, laurent garnier and others. his album alien artform holds both deep, ambient like techno to listen to (think: john beltran & detroit escalator company) as well as more dancefloor-aimed material, without losing the soft touch, (think: kenny larkin & aril brikha). this is (detroit) techno as it is meant to be: soulful & deep. should appeal to fans of aril brikha, d.e.s. and the dubbier german techno stuff. tip!

side a is >chime ep< by hydrus. the four tracks they contributed stand out because of their meticulous production and their wonderful sense of melody and emotion. this is music in the best electronic tradition, blending hiphop, idm, ambient, funk, drone and badass breaks. hydrus begins this twenty-minute journey with a funky bump and end it in a mess of nervous percussion, splintered to dust.
side b is an altogether positive and quirky piece of work by kettel. like most of his work of the last few years, >yellow baron< is exploding with beautiful melody. in six tracks kettel puts everything to work to make your head bop, to bring a smile to your face and a tear to the corner of your eye. classic stuff, without losing sense of experiment.
